What better camouflage for a regime change actor than inserting "defense" in the organization's name?
U.S. proxies abound: Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, and militias in Syria currently seen stomping on flags of Iran and Hezbollah. Why is it the case that the U.S. empire feels the need to hide its agency? And also, is this really fooling anybody?
Sadly, yes. It fools many who get their news only from corporate sources that function as narrative managers for imperial ambitions. The masses have already been softened up by focusing on one "bad guy" after another: President Putin of Russia, the late Nasrallah of Hezbollah, the late Sinwar of Hamas, President Xi of China, and President Assad of Syria.
And then there are the so-called color revolutions: Georgia, currently following the template laid out in Ukraine during neocon Victoria Nuland's Maidan "uprising" against the democratically elected government of Ukraine. Here she is seen distributing cookies to fuel the right wing militias doing her bidding to foment civil war in 2013 in Kyiv.
As Assad said last year in an interview, "World War 3 is already underway but it is different in form."
https://x.com/upholdreality/status/1862682288779100223Caitlin Johnstone does a good job of decoding the official narrative in her latest post, "They Lied About Gaza, And They're Lying About Syria."
If you saw through the lies about Gaza, don’t stop there. Keep going. Keep pulling on threads. Keep learning. Stay curious. They lied about Gaza, they lied about Iraq, they lied about Libya, and they’re lying about Syria too.
Meanwhile, her homies are stressing about Australia being turned into a giant spy base and forward operating theater for U.S. designs on China. Can you blame them?
Military analyst Simplicius has closely followed the proxy war that uses Ukraine as the cat's paw against Russia. This strategy is now winding down after an exchange of long-range missiles recently showed the hand of Western imperial powers to build, supply, and operate such weapons as ATACMs and Storm Shadows. Russia's response then demonstrated that their cutting edge ICBM weapon cannot be defended against with any current interception systems.
Now we move into a new phase, as a ceasefire between the U.S./Israel and Hezbollah went into effect this week.
the Empire threw a head-fake with the Israeli conflict freeze, then launched into a major new hybrid escalation against the resistance, which included an attack on the Ruble initiated by sanctions against Gazprombank and many other Russian banks, a renewed Maidan color revolution attempt in Georgia, and now a massive Turkish-backed offensive in Syria.
Substack YesXOr No, had this to say about that:
The Syrian Dirty War has been reignited on the exact date of the US facilitated "ceasefire" between the genocidal Zionists and the state of Lebanon. The parties to the supposed cessation of hostilities agreement did not include Hizbollah, who rather simply just declared victory. The Zionist entity's airforce almost immediately dropped more bombs on towns in southern Lebanon.
The US brokered "ceasefire" didn't deceive anyone. The sudden violence in northern Syria should not have surprised people either. The question was only 'when'? The US regime interchange is always an opportune time for Western intelligence agencies play their games of chaos and misdirection aided and abetted by their proxies in legacy Western media.
With so many players and proxies, it can be confusing. Here's a handy rule of thumb: if a source promotes the White Helmets, a U.S./UK-backed NGO in Syria, it's a signal to distrust that source. The White Helmets are not a humanitarian org, but are instead a sock puppet for imperial warmongers.
Here are some sources to trust, from a 2016 Consortium News article by Rick Sterling:
Max Blumenthal wrote a two-part exposé at Alternet: “How the White Helmets became International Heroes while Pushing US Intervention and Regime Change in Syria” and “Inside the Shadowy PR Firm that’s Lobbying for Regime Change in Syria.”
(Blumenthal shows how the White Helmets are funded with millions of dollars from the British Foreign Office and $23 million from USAID.) Former weapons inspector Scott Ritter, who was one of the few voices daring to contest President George W. Bush’s false claims about Iraq’s WMD, wrote an article which challenged the White Helmets’ “lionization.”
How to counter the many false narratives? How about using art so gorgeous people will feel compelled to look!
